Our Story
The birth of nakedTREEpergola comes from a long line of experience and passion for the art and craft of timber framing shared by all of us at Notched. Jardin Gleason founded Notched in 2008 as EH Pergolas, a subsidiary of Enhanced Homes Construction, LLC, and was branded as Notched in 2017. Based out of Salt Lake City, Utah Notched has refined the process of designing and furnishing quality timber frame kits, from pergolas, arbors and gazebos to barns and custom pavilions.
Over the past several years there has been a huge increase in demand for quality timber structures, not only for large custom barns and mountain homes, but for suburban back yards all across the nation. Although the demand has increased, with more people appreciating the quality of real timber products, the cost of custom timber frame shade structures has become far out of reach for the average backyard project.
With our passion toward the timber frame legacy, we developed the line of nakedTREEpergola products to keep the legacy of timber frame structures growing. Blending traditional technique with modern design tools and technology, we offer a solution to provide simple, fast and affordable quality timber frame shade structures to everyone across the nation.

They were superb to work with from the beginning design through the final paint touch-up. They were honest. They were polite and professional.
